The next international conference of the European Research Network on Global Pentecostalism (GloPent) will be held at the University of Heidelberg on February 1-2, 2008 under the title "Theory and Method in the Study of Global Pentecostalism".
The study of Pentecostal and Charismatic movements has seen a significant increase in recent years. There is a need, however, for a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary exploration of central theoretical and methodological issues in the research of global Pentecostalism, which the conference seeks to address as part of a series of workshops. Complementing previous multidisciplinary contributions at Birmingham (2006) and Amsterdam (2007), the Heidelberg conference will include theological presentations as well as interdisciplinary explorations of central issues such as globalisation, gender, and the definition of the research object “Pentecostalism”. In addition, different PhD and post doctoral research projects will be presented, illustrating the scope of current research on Pentecostalism.

Conference Fee
The conference fee is € 40.
Students (including PhD students) are eligible to a reduced rate of € 20.
The conference fee includes refreshments and conference materials. It is payable in cash upon arrival.

Since Heidelberg is a tourist town, it is recommended to secure accommodations early on.
