I am a first year PhD student in the Religion and Society Research Centre, at the University of Western Sydney. My primary supervisor is Associate Professor Cristina Rocha.
For my PhD I shall be conducting research with the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG) in Australia. The UKCG is relatively new to Australia, and currently only has four sites. In broad terms, I will be looking at what role the UCKG plays in the everyday lives of its migrant members (congregations tend to be majority migrants to Australia) and how the UKCG fulfils this role? My MA research investigated how migrant members of the predominately Nigerian Pentecostal church, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, made home in Dublin, Ireland.
