Laura Premack is Lecturer in Global Religion and Politics in the Department of Poltics, Philosophy and Religion at Lancaster University, where she is also Associate Director of the Institute for Social Futures. Her research has been funded by Gerda Henkel Stiftung, Fulbright-Hays, the US Department of State, and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. She works on religion, politics and culture in Africa and the Americas, with a specific focus on the global Pentecostal movement in Brazil and Nigeria. Her doctorate is in global history and her research interests are fundamentally interdisciplinary, focusing espeically on intersections: the places where faith, spirituality, national identity, gender, race, hope and healing collide. She is currently at work on a monograph, Demonologies, about spiritual warfare and contemporary global Christianities. Her next project will take on belief and the politics of truth.
