I am currently the Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in Africana Studies and Latin American Studies at Bowdoin College, a liberal arts college in New England. My PhD thesis, "Hope and the Holy Spirit: The Global Pentecostal Movement in Brazil and Nigeria, 1910-2010," considered the historical roots and cultural routes of Pentecostalism as a transnational, but not monolithic, movement. My current research uses my doctoral work as a jumping off point to consider the supernatural in the Atlantic World more broadly. My work tends toward the interdisciplinary, bringing together historical, anthropological, and religious studies scholarship and methodologies. It focuses on questions of culture, race, national identity, and globalization. For a current CV, please visit my Bowdoin College website. I welcome the opportunity to correspond and collaborate with other scholars, researchers, and teachers.
